President Murmu confers 94 distinguished service decorations – World News Network

New Delhi [India], July 20 (ANI): President Droupadi Murmu has conferred 94 distinguished service decorations on the personnel of the Armed Forces and the Indian Coast Guard.
The decorations were conferred during the second phase of the defense investiture ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhawan on Friday.
According to a release from the Ministry of Defence, “These decorations–31 Param Vishisht Seva Medals, four Uttam Yudh Seva Medals, two Bar to Ati Vishisht Seva Medals, and 57 AVSMs–have been given to the personnel for distinguished service of exceptional order.
The first phase of the ceremony was held on July 5, when President Murmu conferred 10 Kirti Chakras (seven posthumous) and 26 Shaurya Chakras (seven posthumous) on the personnel of the Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces and State/Union Territory Police.
The awards were given to the personnel for displaying conspicuous gallantry, indomitable courage, and extreme devotion to duty. (ANI)
