Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], April 3 (ANI): The Trinamool Congress on Wednesday took a dig at PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Na Khaunga, na Khaane Dunga’ remark and said that if there is any truth to it, the Prime Minister should first ban Suvendu Adhikari from all his future election rallies in Bengal over a CBI FIR named against him.
In a post on X, TMC said “PM Narendra Modi portrays himself as the crusader against corruption. But counterintuitively, his ‘Parivar’ is teeming with leaders like Himanta Biswa Sarma, Narayan Rane, Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel against whom BJP had itself brought allegations of corruption.”
“If there’s any truth to PM Modi’s ‘na khaunga na khane dunga’ refrain, he should first ban CBI FIR named Suvendu Adhikari from all his future election rallies in Bengal,” it added.
Earlier, PM Modi said in Rajasthan that the Congress and INDI alliance are contesting the elections for their own selfish motives.
Listing out the differences between the governance of Congress and his ten year tenure, Prime Minister said, “This election is to fulfil the dream of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. Modi says to remove corruption. Congress & INDI alliance are not contesting this election for the country but for their own selfish motives. They say save the corrupt, Modi says remove corruption. This is the first election in which leaders of the Congress party are not talking about winning the elections themselves but are threatening the country that if BJP wins, the country will be on fire.”
In an audio interaction at the “Tiffin Baithak” (meeting) with BJP Karyakartas, PM Modi said that when the public started rejecting opposition, “they started criticising Modi.”
“The INDI Alliance relies on worn-out cliches. They lack both logic and facts. These individuals have nothing else to offer besides corruption, nepotism, and appeasement. That’s all they know. So, when the public begins to reject them, they resort to criticizing Modi. But it’s futile; the people have already seen through their facade. Parivarvadi parties will never appreciate how far India has come. They are ‘of the Parivar, for the Parivar, and by the Parivar’,” PM Modi said.
The election for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held in seven phases starting April 19. Nearly 97 crore voters are eligible to cast votes in the general election. (ANI)
